Calling all 2011 Seniors! (Michigan Senior Portrait Photographer)

I can't believe it's time to start booking senior sessions for the Class of 2011! I am really looking forward to meeting these fresh new faces- ready to start the biggest year in their lives so far. To get the season started off, I am looking for senior representatives to help represent Wendie DeLano Photography. My senior reps will receive 2 free sessions; one mini done in May and the other full session later this summer. They will also earn extra cash for each paid referral they send my way. Only 4 reps will be chosen. If you or someone you know is interested, contact me now and I will email the application out right away. Applications will be due no later than April 30th.

Remember me?

Oh my goodness- I really can not believe it has been so long since I blogged! I took a little down time from it during the holidays because I was just so busy. Once things started to get back to normal I found myself posting new work on Facebook and not blogging. Shame on me- not everyone is on Facebook! So- I am back and ready to have fun with my blog again. And- I want to share the fun with my followers. I have some great things planned for the coming months, including lots of fun promos, specials and GIVEAWAYS! So, be a subscriber- won't you?

I have a great Mother's Day special coming up. I am doing Mommy & Me mini-sessions on May 1st, 2010. I still have some morning slots available... makes a great mother's day gift!

Cousins (Michigan Family Portrait Photographer)

One of the greatest things about family is seeing a new generation bond together. I got to work with a great family recently, Mom & Dad, their two daughters and families. I spent a little extra time with each child, all at different ages and stages. Such fun personalities! I'm glad they decided to get photos of them at this age- moments frozen in time.

Family Fun (Michigan Family Portrait Photographer)

Recently I had a session with a senior girl, and her parents asked if they could take a family portrait with her as well. They had not had a family portrait taken since the girl was a toddler! I am really surprised at how often I hear this. It's something you do when the kids are little, but as they get older, it gets put off, or not done for whatever reason. Kids grow and change so much every year and I think it's important to catch them at each stage. After all, how else will you be able to tease the little darlings once they get older and bring home their first boyfriend/girlfriend home?

Here are some favorites from a fun family session I did recently. Mom and Dad here are old friends of mine, and they have two of the cutest little boys ever! It is so neat to see how much they remind me of their dad. Little mini-me's. Love it.

The Savvy Photographer

I came across a great blog for Photographers today called The Savvy Photographer. Oh my gosh, what a great Blog! I think I will be spending a lot of time there! In one post they shared inspirations for a variety of different work spaces. I couldn't believe it when I read that all the items they showed came from TARGET! Who knew you could get so many neat things through Target's online store? I loved this beachy office- so lovely- and that chair! I really need to own that chair. Could you imagine the images I could get using that as a prop? Yes, a girl can dream. Anyway, I am sharing this blog with you in hopes it will provide inspiration to you too. Enjoy! www.thesavvyphotographer.blogspot.com

All Grown Up

I have to say, this summer has made me feel really old! Ha! I have worked with a hand full of girls I have known since itty bitty-ness. To see them all grown up and entering their senior year in High School is really something. As I was editing these images of Lauren, I had a really clear memory of her as a little girl. We were driving somewhere (can't remember where), and she and I were in the back seat. She must have been about 4 or 5? I was trying to keep her entertained, so I told her a story I made up on the spot. I can't remember specifics of the story, but I do recall it involved lots of pretty shoes and I had her giggling like crazy. Such a random memory; one that I'm sure she doesn't share; but it is meaningful to me. Why? It was the first time I remember feeling like I would make a really good mom someday. All these years later, I can still make up a great story in a moments notice. And I think I turned out to be a pretty darn good mom too...

Fun on the Farm

I had such a great time working with the lovely Shelby. These images were taken as we walked around her families farm, which has been owned by her family for generations. There was so many great spots to shoot and the light was beautiful. I was really impressed with Shelby, such a bright girl and so sweet. I know her future possibilities are endless!
